Oktoberfest fuer Familien

Time to dust off your Dirndl and leap into your Lederhosen!  You've probably seen our Oktoberfest event posters around the scout hall.

Join us for a lovely afternoon and evening for families... at the Turner Scout Hall, for traditional Oktoberfest activities ... suitable for families with children 0-15 yrs.  If you know other German families with kids in Canberra, feel free to bring them along and introduce them around.

The Oktober-Spielwelt-Fest will be held:

Saturday 4 November, 2017.  (Novemberfest is the new Oktoberfest... improved by better weather, we hope!)

4:30pm to 10pm

Check our facebook page for the details:  https://www.facebook.com/SpielweltGermanKidsCanberra/

There will be lots of German food (see menu), German entertainment and fun.

This year's event will feature traditional Oktoberfest games like Tug-of-War, Arm-Wrestling, and Can-Tosses... plus we are looking forward to great music.  What about a Schuhplattln session?!!

BYO picnic blanket, chairs, plate, cutlery, beer stein or mug, juice cups...

If you would like to bring food to share, play an instrument, or help out on the day, please have a look on our "How can I help make Oktoberfest a lovely event for everyone?" sign-up sheet.

The 2016 menu will include Spanferkel (pig on a spit... yes, very German!) and fabulous home-made sausages from The Brathaus.  Traditional sauerkraut, potato salad, rolls, pretzels, German beer, veggie skewers, great German desserts, all feature on our delicious menu.

You can pay in cash for the food your family eats on the day, or you can save money and hassle by pre-purchasing your food and drink.  We make it easy!  Head to our online ordering menu, choose your items, total your bill and deposit that amount into the Pfadfinder account:

Scouts ACT Pfadfinder
BSB 032778
Account 334067
Ref  OKT [your family surname]   (for example:  OKT Schneider)

When you arrive, collect your food and drink tickets, and then head off to the food and drink area to select your items in exchange for a ticket.

You may want to bring a bit of extra cash just in case you decide on having a bit more on the day!
