Mindfulness

What can you do to promote mindfulness in your child’s life?

We, as parents, carers and community, are our children’s best role models.

Take time to:

  • slow down and notice what is happening around you
  • encourage your child to notice what they can see, hear, smell, taste and feel
  • spend quiet time together without distractions
  • notice and talk about feelings
  • practise taking slow, calm breaths together

What are we doing at GAP to promote mindfulness?

We take time to slow down and notice what is happening around us.

We encourage children to use their senses and notice what they can see, hear, smell, taste and feel.

We spend time outside noticing nature and the changes happening around us.

We practise quiet moments and simple breathing activities.

We encourage children to recognise and talk about how they are feeling.

Our commonly used mindfulness phrases at GAP

„Atme tief ein.“
Take a deep breath.

„Hör mal zu.“
Have a listen.

„Was kannst du sehen?“
What can you see?
