Our Supporters

Built by our community

Spielwelt has always been a community effort. For more than 20 years, families, volunteers and supporters have helped create a place where children can grow up with German language and culture.

A community effort

It takes a village

Spielwelt is powered by people who believe in the value of language, culture and community. Families, volunteers, partners and supporters each play a different role, but together they create the programs, traditions and experiences that make Spielwelt possible.

Parents, leaders, committee members and educators generously give their time to keep programs, events and traditions alive.

Local businesses, organisations and embassies strengthen Spielwelt through expertise, equipment, sponsorship and practical support.

Government funding has helped improve facilities, expand programs and create new opportunities for families.

From donating books to planting grass, baking cakes or organising events, families continue to shape Spielwelt every year.

Government & Embassy Support

Investing in Language and Community

Government grants and support from the German Embassy have helped Spielwelt grow over many years. From improving our facilities to supporting language programs and new initiatives, these partnerships have created lasting opportunities for children and families.

The ACT Government has supported Spielwelt through Community Support & Infrastructure Grants, including $35,000 in 2008, $12,000 in 2009 and $5,600 in 2017, helping improve our facilities for generations of families.

The ACT Government has supported Spielwelt through the Multicultural Grants Program almost every year since 2006, with grants typically ranging from $800 to $3,000.

The ACT Government has supported German language education through Community Language Grants over many years.

The German Embassy has supported the establishment of our Pfadfinder Scouts and contributed gifts for the German Australian Playschool.
